Depuis 1988, Petro-Canada a versé plus de 14 millions $ en soutien financier à plus de 3500 athlètes et entraîneurs canadiens.
TORONTO (October 15, 2025) – Today, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC), Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), and Petro-Canada™, a Suncor business, announced Petro-Canada’s Fuelling Athlete and Coaching Excellence (FACE™) Program Class of 2025.
The FACE Program, now in its 37th year, provides financial support to both athletes and coaches as they pursue their Olympic and Paralympic dreams. Since 1988, Petro-Canada has provided over $14 million in financial support to more than 3,500 Canadian athletes and coaches.
“We are grateful for Petro-Canada’s commitment to fuelling the dreams of Canadian athletes and coaches,” said David Shoemaker, CEO and Secretary General of the Canadian Olympic Committee. “For nearly four decades, Petro-Canada’s FACE Program has been instrumental for emerging athletes and the overall success of Team Canada, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come.”
“Petro-Canada’s longstanding support for coaches and athletes has had a tremendous impact on sport in Canada,” said Lorraine Lafrenière, CAC Chief Executive Officer. “With the funding provided by Petro-Canada’s FACE Program, coaches can better support the next generation of athletes and advance their own professional development, empowering them to grow together.”
This year, the FACE grant is awarded to 55 athlete-coach pairs striving to represent Team Canada but who do not yet qualify for government funding. These Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls will receive $10,000 per pair to fund training, equipment, education and travel costs.
“The FACE Program has made such an incredible impact on the development of Paralympic athletes for so many years,” said Karen O’Neill, CPC Chief Executive Officer. “This support is so important to an athlete’s career as they work to achieve their goals. Thank you to Petro-Canada for their continued commitment to supporting Canadian athletes and coaches, and we look forward to following along the journeys of each 2025 FACE grant recipient.”
“Petro-Canada is proud to continue supporting the FACE Program and the Class of 2025. These Canadian athletes and their coaches exemplify dedication, perseverance and passion, inspiring communities across Canada,” said Dave Fath, General Manager of Petro-Canada Brand Marketing. “We are honoured to help provide the resources they need to achieve their goals and represent Canada on the world stage.”
